Tuning Pianos in the Madison Area since 2008
About Me
I was born and raised in Monroe, Wisconsin and started playing the piano at a young age. In 2001 while living in Eugene, Oregon, I bought a large old upright piano that changed my life. It was an ordinary old wreck of a piano, but after seeing the difference a piano tuner could make in a couple of hours, I was hooked. For 3 years, I apprenticed with a registered piano technician (RPT) named Rick Carter, who was well known in the area for piano refinishing and high end piano rebuilding. During my time there, I was able to pass the physical exams to become an RPT just before moving back to Madison in 2008. I had the good fortune to arrive just as a position at Farley’s House of Pianos had become available. There I spent the next 16 years both tuning and in the workshop where I learned an incredible amount from the experience of rebuilding many pianos from start to finish with the guidance of a master piano technician in Timothy Farley RPT.
