$150 This is for pianos that are close to pitch, aka less than 8 cents deviation from A440 standard pitch. Except in cases where a house has large humidity swings, a piano will usually only need this level of service if it is tuned at least once a year.
Takes about 90 minutes.

$20-40 If it has been more than a year, good chance the piano will need this service. It is a quick rough tuning done solely for the purpose of getting the instrument to approximately the correct pitch.
Takes about 20 minutes, after which the fine tuning begins.

$100-$1200 Regulation can vary according to the condition of the piano and the desired outcome of the owner. A full job typically includes hammer reshaping to restore the proper shape and a full action regulation to bring the action mechanism back to it’s optimal state. Key leveling is another optional task that can add a lot of time to a job but results in an inviting keyboard.
$90/hr Piano hammers can be voiced to play more softly or loudly. As piano hammer impacts the strings over and over, the felt becomes more dense, resulting in a brighter and harsher tone. Because of this, we are typically trying to soften the hammer, though sometimes improperly prepped hammers need hardening in the high treble and bass sections.
To soften hammers, sometimes deep needling the shoulders is the solution, especially in the case of hot pressed hammers. Other times shallow needling right at strike point is needed. Every hammer set is different and there are many different techniques that can be employed.
Light voicing to take the edge off of old hammers can be done at the time of tuning, many times at no charge.
$90/hr All types of action repairs: broken shanks, failed jack flange joints, loose hammers, flange center repinning, damper work, piano string splicing, cracked key buttons, loose ivories, action part friction treatment, castor replacements, soundboard and bridge repairs, finish repair, case touchup, satin finish rubouts……in other words, if it’s possible to repair, I’m most likely willing to try.

String covers are made of 100% wool and do an incredible job of protecting grand pianos from the effects of time. I routinely see pianos with string covers that are 30 years old that look practically brand new. They help limit air-flow on the soundboard thereby increasing tuning stability and also provide protection from spills and foreign objects that often find there way into the interior.
Prices vary according to size but range from $459 to $749
